Canada is a vast country with provinces and territories have their own unique needs. Immigration cannot be a one size fits all scenario. Canada recognizes the importance of growing our population and our economy through immigration. Canada has the capacity, and the systems in place to have a robust immigration program that is flexible, sustainable and can meet the needs of the future.
Since it’s beginnings, Canada has been a nation built on immigration. History shows us that remains today as we are seeing the same trends. What is interesting, is not just the numbers, it’s the breakdown of who this country is trying to attract. In 2018, Canada welcomed 321,035 permanent residents, the highest it’s been since 1913.
